Radford, VA (07/11/2025) — Radford University subject matter experts are available to speak on the following topics:

Texas flooding

Radford University Assistant Professor of Geospatial Science Naveen Joseph is available to discuss the recent catastrophic flooding in central Texas. Joseph can speak about urban flooding challenges, particularly in rapidly growing or poorly drained areas; infrastructure vulnerabilities exposed during extreme flood events; and broader climate change implications for the increasing frequency and intensity of such events. Joseph's expertise focuses on people's interactions with the geospatial environments in which they live.

Managing supply chains to limit risks

Virginia and the rest of the nation depend on a complex global network of supply chains for a wide variety of goods and services. As was seen during the COVID pandemic, the disruptions in supply chains can lead to shortages, delays and higher prices. But other, more subtle, supply chain risks exist as well, such as the introduction of counterfeit products. Radford University Assistant Professor of Management Zachary Collier is available to speak about how supply chain risks be effectively managed.
