Salem's Audrey Lee wins Radford University Scripps Regional Spelling Bee

Radford, VA (03/16/2024) — Audrey Lee, a seventh grader from Andrew Lewis Middle School in Salem, won the Radford University regional spelling bee on Saturday and advances to the 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Lee bested 23 competitors from regional public school districts and private schools, winning in 12 rounds. She will compete at Bee Week 2024 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. Bee Week begins with preliminary rounds on May 28 and concludes with the finals on May 30.

The regional bee was held inside the Bonnie Hurlburt Student Center on the main campus of Radford University.
