Radford University welcomes students back to campus for 2026 Move-In
Radford, VA (08/17/2026) — Radford University will welcome students and their families to campus this week as Highlanders move into residence halls ahead of the start of the fall semester.
Move-In will bring plenty of activity across campus as students unload vehicles, settle into their residence halls and begin making Radford their home for the academic year. Members of the campus community, known as Highlander Haulers, will also be stationed throughout campus to welcome students and families, lend an extra hand, provide information and assist with move-in carts.
Members of the media are invited to visit campus to capture Move-In and speak with students, families and university representatives about the start of a new academic year.
WHEN
- Wednesday, Aug. 19 - Friday, Aug. 21, 2026 Move-in timeslots are scheduled between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
- Wednesday, Aug. 19, is a recommended opportunity for media coverage. It marks the first day of Move-In and the first arrivals of students and families to campus.
- Thursday, Aug. 20, will also offer strong coverage opportunities, with both returning students and new first-year and transfer students moving into residence halls.
INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITIES
In addition to students and families, representatives from Radford University Student Affairs will be available for interviews, including:

- Bruce Hayden, Dean of Students
Reporters interested in interviews are encouraged to coordinate in advance.
**Move-In activity will take place at residence halls throughout the main campus.**
MEDIA CHECK-IN
- Reporters, photographers and news crews planning to attend are asked to check in with Justin Ward, Director of Media Services, upon arrival on campus
