Radford University Listed as Most Affordable College in Virginia

Radford, VA (10/27/2022) — Radford University is listed as the most affordable institution of higher learning in Virginia by GOBankingRates.com, a personal finance site.

The site used National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) data for the 2021-22 academic year to source the most affordable institutions in terms of cost of in-state tuition and fees and room and board. The institution from each state with the smallest total in these areas was selected as the most affordable from its respective state.

"Along with efforts to minimize the financial burden on students and their families, the university's academic programs are constantly adapting to ensure career readiness and maximum return on investment for each individual that chooses Radford."

GOBankingRates listed Radford University's data:

2021-2022 cost of in-state tuition & fees: $15,852
2021-2022 cost of room and board: $10,330
2021-2022 cost of in-state tuition and room and board: $26,182

The methodology* for the study required four-year colleges with enrollment over 1,000 students. Community colleges, tribal colleges, land-grant and Bible colleges were not included.

*Methodology:

In order to discover the most affordable college in every state, GOBankingRates used the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) data for the 2021/22 academic year to source the most affordable institution in terms of (1) cost of in-state tuition and fees AND room and board for the 2021/22 academic year. GOBankingRates also sourced each institution's: (2) annual cost for on-campus room and board; and (3) total tuition price for in-state students. The institution from each state with the smallest total for factor (1) was selected as the most affordable from their respective state. No community colleges, tribal colleges, land-grant or Bible colleges were considered. Over 1,000 students were required. Four-year schools were required. All data was collected and is up to date as of Sept. 26, 2022.
