Radford University achieves enrollment milestone

Total enrollment remains strong with growth across key programs

Radford, VA (09/12/2025) — Radford University continues to demonstrate strong momentum in student enrollment, meeting and exceeding goals for the 2024-25 academic year.

Following last year's record-breaking new student enrollment, Radford has sustained that growth with gains across undergraduate and graduate programs. This fall, the university enrolled 7,837 students, up from 7,812 last year. Undergraduate enrollment increased by 1%, while new graduate enrollment rose by 8%.

This momentum reflects Radford's commitment to access and affordability through initiatives such as Direct Admissions and the Radford Tuition Promise, which simplify the college enrollment process and make higher education more affordable for families.

"We are encouraged to see continued growth across both our undergraduate and graduate programs," said Dannette Gomez Beane, vice president for Enrollment Management and Strategic Communications. "These results demonstrate the power of Radford's transparent admissions approach and our commitment to accessibility."

Undergraduate enrollment at the main campus grew from 5,059 to 5,251 students. Graduate enrollment in online programs such as educational leadership and social work reached their highest levels since before the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the demand for flexible, career-focused programs.

The College of Nursing welcomed its largest undergraduate class in history with 1,295 students, including 700 new students at the main campus, further strengthening Radford's role in meeting critical workforce needs across the commonwealth.

The Honors College also posted strong gains, growing more than 10% to 425 students, up from 386 in fall 2024. New Honors enrollment increased 13% to 156 incoming students for fall 2025, reflecting heightened interest in academically challenging, community-centered experiences.

These outcomes affirm Radford University's trajectory. Overall enrollment is steady, growth is concentrated in fields with high demand and access continues to expand through clear and affordable pathways. The university will continue to invest in student success and in partnerships that prepare graduates to meet Virginia's workforce needs and to contribute to communities across the commonwealth and beyond.
