Radford, Va. - Led by sophomore Emma Young's eight kills, the Radford volleyball team took down Charleston Southern 3-0 in Big South Conference action Friday evening at the Dedmon Center.
The Highlanders started hot out of the gate, racing to a 14-4 lead in the first set. The run was highlighted by senior Grace Green's three service aces. The home team took the opening set 25-11.
In the second game, the action was more tightly contested, but Radford was able to pull away from the Buccaneers and win 25-19 as Young recorded three kills.
The Highlanders finished the job in set three, winning 25-15 for their third victory in their last five games and third consecutive win at the Dedmon Center.
KEY STATS
Logan Williams paced the victors with nine assists, and also chipped in with seven digs.
Morgan Lawson had seven kills and five block assists.
As a team, Radford recorded 14 blocks to the Buccaneers' three.
