Radford Highlanders Festival & Homecoming wrap - video available

Radford, VA (10/11/2025) — Radford University's campus hosted two marquee traditions today as the Radford Highlanders Festival and Homecoming 2025 ran side-by-side, drawing large crowds for heavyweight athletics, music, clan gatherings and alumni celebrations.

On Moffett Lawn, athletes turned cabers, threw weights and competed in stone-lifting throughout the day, framed by the Massed Band and Clan March at noon. Headliners Tartan Terrors and Ally the Piper mixed pipes, whistles and fiddle with rock sets, while families browsed vendors, met clan societies and watched sheepherding demonstrations. As Highland Games lead Johnathan Harding noted, the day showcased "Highland Athletics, Stone Lifting, and music rooted in Scottish and Celtic culture, [that] have evolved to fit with modern audiences."

Across campus, Homecoming events welcomed alumni back for reunions, affinity gatherings and campus highlights, adding to the energy and foot traffic around the Festival.
