Media Advisory: Radford University welcomes students back during move-in days

Radford, VA (08/18/2025) — The Radford University community will welcome students to campus starting Wednesday, Aug. 20, for the first of three move-in days in Radford and Roanoke. This is a Highlander tradition to welcome our students for the new academic year. The most students are anticipated to move in Thursday, Aug. 21.

Who: Radford University and Radford University Carilion students, employees and volunteers will welcome first-year students and returning students and help them move into residence halls.

When: 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., Aug. 20, 21 and 22, 2025 (The best day is Thursday for photo and video opportunities.) RUC move-in is on Thursday only.

Where: Radford University campus, all residence halls; Radford University Carilion, The Patrick Henry

Move-in signifies the start of an exciting semester at Radford University and the beginning of several days of activities designed to help new and returning students become acclimated to campus, learn a little more about student life and meet new friends.
