Media Advisory: Radford University signing ceremony for Tartan Transfer program

Radford, VA (11/04/2024) — Radford University invites reporters to attend a signing ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, to celebrate the official launch of the Tartan Transfer program. This new initiative will provide a seamless pathway for students from eight Virginia Community College System (VCCS) institutions to transfer to Radford University, enhancing access to affordable, high-quality education.

  • Representatives from participating Virginia community colleges: Mountain Empire, Virginia Highlands, Southwest Virginia, Wytheville, New River, Mountain Gateway, Virginia Western, and Patrick & Henry

Background:

The Tartan Transfer program is a strategic partnership aimed at supporting Virginia's community college students by providing a clear and affordable route to a bachelor's degree. The program includes features such as tuition-free associate degree options at participating community colleges, the Radford Tuition Promise for eligible students, maximized transfer credits, personalized advising, early campus integration, and targeted career preparation.

This ceremony will mark a significant step forward in Radford University's commitment to expanding educational access, ensuring student success and strengthening ties with community colleges across the state.
