Media Advisory: Radford University Presidential Inauguration and Week of Celebration
Radford, VA (09/27/2022) — Inauguration
The inauguration of Bret Danilowicz, Ph.D. as president of Radford University will be held the morning of Friday, September 30, at 10 a.m. in front of McConnell Library. The event will include hundreds of members from the Highlander family and dignitaries from academia, government and business leaders. A reception will follow on Muse Lawn.
In the event of inclement weather, the inauguration ceremony would take place in the Bondurant Auditorium in Preston Hall. The reception would be held in the Muse Banquet Hall.
News organizations sending a reporter to the inauguration ceremony should RSVP to Justin Ward for specific arrangements.
In July, Danilowicz officially began his role as the eighth president of Radford University. The Radford University Board of Visitors announced Danilowicz's selection as the president-elect in December. A strong advocate of shared governance and transparency, Danilowicz brings 22 years of higher education leadership experience to the presidency.
Radford Gives Back
Part of inauguration includes a campus-wide service project. The seventh Radford Gives Back is hosting a food collection for the Bobcat Backpacks Program on the Radford University, Radford site on Wednesday, September 28, at 5 p.m. in the Student Recreation & Wellness Center MAC court (lower level).
