by Justin Ward

Radford, VA (09/12/2023) — Radford University is hosting "A Conversation with Southwest Virginia Public Servants," from 6-7:30 p.m., Sept. 13, 2023, at the Davis Performance Hall in the Covington Center on main campus. This free event will give the public a unique opportunity to hear from local candidates running for office about why they chose to enter into public service and the importance of civic engagement, and pressing issues facing our region.

"Radford University and Southwest Virginia have a very important and beneficial relationship," said Chapman Rackaway, Ph.D., professor and chair of the department of political science. "The university can be a true hub for the region, bringing people together from a variety of viewpoints and backgrounds to find common purpose for securing the future of the New River Valley. This conversation is an important part of that civic commitment, giving everyone in the area a chance to see and hear directly from people making vital decisions that will affect us all."
