Jobs for Virginia Graduates Ignite Competition brings "Shark Tank"-style student pitches to Radford University

Radford, VA (02/10/2026) — Radford University will host the Jobs for Virginia Graduates (JVG) Ignite Competition on Thursday, Feb. 12, in Kyle Hall, welcoming high school students from the region as they pitch original business concepts to a panel of judges. The event promotes entrepreneurship and career readiness for students participating in JVG, a statewide program that supports young people in developing professional skills and pathways to graduation and employment.

What: Jobs for Virginia Graduates (JVG) Ignite Competition and JVG Scholarship Ceremony (awards)

When: Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026

  • 9-9:30 a.m. - Coffee and refreshments (reporters welcome)
  • Presentations - Held throughout the event (see access note below)
  • 12:30-1:30 p.m. - JVG Scholarship Ceremony / Awards (reporters welcome)

Where: Kyle Hall, Radford University

Note to reporters about access:
To replicate the national competition environment and to support presenting students, only the presenting students, teachers and judges are permitted in the presentation rooms during a student's designated presentation time. Media are welcome to attend the 12:30-1:30 p.m. awards ceremony, stop by for coffee and refreshments from 9-9:30 a.m., and may have opportunities to speak with students between competition segments.
