The President and the Press
Over the past few weeks, President Trump's relationship with media has further soured after he banned Associated Press reporters from the White House and later seized control over selecting which media outlets could participate in reporter pools covering the president. Radford University School of Communication Professor Bill Kovarik, an expert in journalism and media history, is available to speak about Trump's controversial treatment of the press. Before joining Radford, Kovarik was a credentialed journalist in Washington, D.C., covering Capitol Hill and White House briefings.

Impacts of Tariffs
On Monday, President Donald Trump said he plans to move forward with his plans to impose 25% tariffs on goods from Canada and Mexico beginning on Tuesday, March 4. Radford University Associate Professor of Economics Thomas Duncan is available to speak about the uncertainty around tariffs and how they may affect consumers. "Tariffs are nearly always paid for in higher prices to consumers in the domestic economy," said Duncan, an expert in international economics.

Impacts of DOGE
Radford University professor and chair of the Department of Political Science Chapman Rackaway, is available to speak with media about Virginia Glenn Youngkin's "decision to back" President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk in their efforts to downsize the federal government under the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The professor says the governor's decision "is going to hurt" the governor moving forward, as well as Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears in her bid to be elected the Commonwealth's next governor in November. Dr. Rackaway is available to talk about "Youngkin's difficult position, why he's made the decisions he has made, and what it means for November's elections

Five Years Post COVID
It's been five years since the Covid-19 global pandemic forced many company employees out of the office and into safer work environment, performing job duties remotely from their homes. Now, many companies are demanding workers return to the office. Radford University Assistant Professor Management Benjamin Biermeier-Hanson, Ph.D., is available to speak about work may look like going forward. Biermeier-Hanson is an expert on employee engagement and morale, organizational culture, staffing, talent management, and health/stress in the workplace.

Celebrating Women's History Month
Radford University's Women's and Gender Studies (WGST) is celebrating Women's History Month with three days of workshops, activities, creative works and other programs that support women and gender. The year marks the 24thanniversary of Women's Studies (now WGST) at Radford. Women's History Month events on campus run March 4-6, and will offer presentations and discussions by Radford students, faculty and staff as well as members of the community. Those events include a presentation on U.S. women's suffrage cookbooks and "A Conversation about Taylor Swift."
