Election day in Wisconsin and Florida
On Tuesday, April 1, Wisconsin voters chose liberal-leaning candidate Susan Crawford for the state's vacant supreme court seat, defeating conservative Brad Schimel, who was backed by President Trump and billionaire Elon Musk. Crawford's victory sustained a 4-3 liberal majority on the court. Meanwhile in Florida, voters in special elections selected Republican candidates for two vacancies in the state's congressional districts, but Democrats performed better than expected in those elections. Radford University professor and chair of the Department of Political Science Chapman Rackaway, is available to speak with media about the importance of these special elections.
